Our boats trace their origins to guides who designed boats to suit their unique needs in the severe terrain of the Adirondacks. With the invention of the Adirondack guideboat. the area opened itself to new uses, from hunting and fishing to residential development.

We build the guideboat in cedar, pine, cherry and spruce, but our Kevlar and fiberglass boats represent the bulk of our business. These boats possess the same rowing properties and aesthetic which made the guideboat legendary, but do so at a price within the reach of all. The Kevlar/glass guideboat is 15 feet long, weighs 68 lbs. and rows like a dream. The Vermont Fishing Dory is one foot shorter, a half-foot wider, and weighs 80 lbs. It is more stable, with greater carrying capacity. The Vermont Packboat, at 12 ft. long, and 46 lbs., is perfect for those seeking a lighter-weight boat.

The cedar guideboat is also available as a kit, and includes all parts, a manual, photos, a glassing video, and our phone number.

Once you’ve seen our website, send us an e-mail if you see a boat that you think might suit your needs. We can answer questions and provide additional photographs and a DVD showing our boats on the water.
