From WoodenBoat School’s very first year (1981), the emphasis has been on hands-on education. Participants learn new skills, new ways of doing things, and have a great time in a truly inspiring environment. A friendly, first-class staff and faculty are eager to share their vast knowledge and experience. The school strives to provide small, intimate classes that guarantee plenty of individual attention. It is a unique and wonderful opportunity for folks of all ages. As one looks at our remarkable array of course offerings, you’ll find that there is literally something for everyone who shares a common interest in boats and boating.

Each spring, summer, and fall we play host to more than 600 students, faculty, and guests at our 60-acre saltwater campus here in Brooklin, Maine. It’s an easy place to relax and enjoy yourself; a home away from home for many. We surround you with outstanding teachers, fine craftsmanship, beautiful boats to use on our waterfront, good food and comfortable accommodations, plenty of like-minded folks from around the globe, and the unspoiled beauty of down east Maine.
