Particulars: Alabama, hull no. 9 of Grey Barn Boatworks’ North Shore 22, was bought by a Rhode Island couple who had sold their 30-foot sailboat and were looking to simplify their time on the water. The pair said that the boat’s classic lines, full keel, inboard diesel engine, and solid construction were just what they were looking for.

One of the owners described it this way: "Under way, the North Shore 22 finds her sweet spot at around 15 knots, with a top speed in the mid to high 20-knot-range. Fifteen knots provides a very comfortable ride with the feel of a much larger boat and is sustainable, with absolutely no pounding, in any sea condition I expect to encounter in an open day boat, all with the 125-hp diesel burning less than 3 gallons per hour.
