Alison Langley – A Nautical Christmas by the Sea
Local photographer Alison Langley announced the opening of her new gallery, Nautical Images, located in the Knox Mill, on Mechanic Street in Camden.

Nautical Images Gallery will exhibit Alison's new work on a regular basis, with themed shows and opening receptions (parties!) for each body of work. The gallery will also offer Alison's fine art prints, posters, calendars and notecards. The opening is timed to be a part of the festive "Christmas by the Sea" celebration.

Maine Wood 2008: Opening Reception
Sixty-three furniture makers, sculptors, carvers, and wood turners submitted more 135 pieces for consideration, from which 24 were chosen by jurors Garrett Hack and Beth Ireland. The selected work represents the excellence and diversity of Maine’s woodworking community. More than $2,000 in prizes from corporate sponsors will be awarded at the opening reception, Thursday November 29th from 5-7p.m. at the Messler Gallery, Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, Rockport . 21st Annual Christmas By The Sea
A weekend celebration of the holiday season with shopping, musical entertainment, a parade, community tree lighting ceremony, and horse-drawn wagon rides. Help protect Acadia's historic carriage roads by raking leaves to prepare them for winter. Volunteers spend 1/2 day working in the Park, cleaning carriage roads, clearing ditches to help spring thaws and rains flow through drainages, reducing erosion on the roads. Pianist Max Levinson, Andrew Wolf Chamber Music Award Winner, will return to the Midcoast, and this time he'll bring his wife, standout cellist Allison Eldredge. The night will include sonatas by Beethoven and Brahms, a suite of Spanish folksongs and Stephen Prutsman's arrangement of Lerner and Loewe's "I Could Have Danced All Night. The Lighting of the Nubble
A popular annual event, when the Nubble lighthouse is set aglow for the holiday season with thousands of tiny white lights. Music, refreshments, and the arrival of Santa Claus on a fire truck complete the evening. If you miss the lighting, you can still enjoy the sight of the lighthouse lit up for the holiday season any evening through the end of the year.
