The new MaineBoats.com (launched March, 2010) was created through the efforts of the entire Maine Boats, Homes and Harbors staff. Overall project management, website design and information architecture by Jamie Bloomquist with the help of the following freelance programmers: Lead Programming: John Smith, Whitelancer Other Programming: Lance Dutson / Maine Coast Design, Jonathon Whitener, Gates Media, Sean Carnell, and Carl Trapani. MaineBoats.com received an Outstanding Achievement Award for excellence in the design, development and implementation. The honor, granted by the Interactive Media Awards, recognized that the project met and surpassed the standards of excellence that comprise the web's most professional work. The judging criteria included overall design, usability, innovation in technical features, standards compliance and content. In order to win this award level, the site had to meet strict guidelines in each area - an achievement attained by only a fraction of sites in the IMA competition earn each year.
