Castine Classic Yacht event to celebrate Herreshoff

The 20th annual Castine Classic Yacht Celebration, sponsored by the Castine Yacht Club, will honor the iconic designs of Nathanael G. Herreshoff.
On July 31 noted examples of Herreshoff craft will be on exhibition at the Castine, Maine, town dock, followed by a Symposium at the Maine Maritime Academy with a panel of distinguished Herreshoff experts and sailors, chaired by Bill Lynn, Executive Director of the Herreshoff Marine Museum/America’s Cup Hall of Fame. The Castine Yacht Club will host a reception following the symposium.
The exhibition will include some of the smaller Herreshoff classes, such as BB 25s, BB 15s, Herreshoff 12 1/2s and Herreshoff Coquinas. Plans call for a short in-the-harbor race for the day sailers on August 1, together with the Castine Class fleet. Please notify the Committee below if you plan to have such a boat in Castine.
On August 1 a fleet of over 40 classic yachts will race a 19.6 nm course from Castine to Camden, followed by the Camden to Brooklin Race on August 2 and the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta on August 3.
